Kevin Durant Interesting comments The 2017 NBA Finals between Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers was better -- and claimed that the matchup was completely equal. Recently, Draymond Green stated on an intersectional broadcast with JJ Redick, both of whom are on the podcast, that he believes that the Golden State Warriors would not have defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2017 NBA Finals had it not been for former MVP Kevin Durants inclusion. Kevin Durant, who was defeated in the 2012 NBA Finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder being finished by LeBron Jamess Miami Heat, returned the favor, scoring a franchise-high 39 points in the loss, and was honored with the 2017 Finals MVP. The juggernaut that people imagined back in July

Golden State posted a 67-15 record during the regular season, and steamrolled its way into its third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, winning its first 12 games in the NBA playoffs - three consecutive home-court sweeps. Up 2-0 in the series, the Warriors looked every bit like the juggernaut that people imagined back in July, when Kevin Durant joined the squad that won a franchise-record 73 games during the regular season last year, while the Cavaliers looked lethargic and unmatched by a skilled, star-studded superteam. Golden State has won 67 games - Kerr became the winningest first-year head coach in NBA history in the process - and Stephen Curry was named the leagues Most Valuable Player, beating Rockets guard James Harden.
