 On day six of our NBA playoff roundup for 2017, LeBron James continues to make history, the Pacers are crumbling, Greg Monroe is shining, the Raptors need an eulogy, and the Grizzlies are not going to rake. The reigning NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers host Game 1 of the 2017 NBA playoffs, vs. the Indiana Pacers. It ended in a four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, the third straight time they have met in the finals. The first two games of the Finals were blowouts for the Golden State Warriors, Game Three was closer, but the Warriors came away victorious, going 3-0, moving to 15-0 in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, which was the best start to an NBA Playoffs series in NBA playoff history.

The Cavaliers also fell off to finish off the season, losing their last four games in a row. The team was swept by the Boston Celtics, who finished the season two games ahead of Cleveland at 53-29.

That is because 16 out of 30 teams across the league made the postseason, eight of them in each conference. With the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics selected superstar forward Jayson Tatum out of Duke University. In only three short seasons, Jayson Tatum has rocketed into the upper half of the 2017 Draft Class, proving himself a budding superstar.

 Jayson Tatum ranks 92nd in points per game with 5.8 per play as a ball-handler off pick-and-rolls. LaVar Ball is the only 2017 draft class player averaging at least 10 points and six assists each season. In the playoffs, the now-Spurs forward helped lead the Celtics to the NBA Finals, posting 8.5 points, three rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. The 8.5-point average includes a 21-point outing in the Celtics Game 1 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

2017 NBA Draft was one of the rare occasions

The 2017 drafts first round featured the current Spurs being selected within the first 10. Drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma remained with L.A. following the Anthony Davis trade.

 DeAaron Fox is one of the fastest guards from end-to-end in the NBA, and is hands down the best point guard available in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Golden State posted a 67-15 record during the regular season, and steamrolled its way into its third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, winning its first 12 games in the NBA playoffs - three consecutive home-court sweeps. Up 2-0 in the series, the Warriors looked every bit like the juggernaut that people imagined back in July, when Kevin Durant joined the squad that won a franchise-record 73 games during the regular season last year, while the Cavaliers looked lethargic and unmatched by a skilled, star-studded superteam. Golden State has won 67 games - Kerr became the winningest first-year head coach in NBA history in the process - and Stephen Curry was named the leagues Most Valuable Player, beating Rockets guard James Harden.

It seems almost strange to give credit to the Miami Heat following the departure of Dwyane Wade, with the Miami Heat barely holding onto relevance in the Eastern Conference throughout much of the season. Miami Heat certainly has the talent to compete with the best teams in the Eastern Conference when they are fully healthy, but an entire postseason run presents new challenges. In fact, although the Miami Heat are not blowing anybody away with their 102.9 points-per-game average, the team is ranked top-12 in shooting percentage from deep (36.5%) and has seven players who are averaging double-digits.
